Orbit's WMS, Datex, integrates with a variety of e-commerce platforms. One of the e-commerce platforms that Dropstream integrates with is BigCommerce.
In order to connect BigCommerce to Datex, Orbit uses a third-party integration called Dropstream. Dropstream connects a variety of e-commerce platforms to Datex so your orders and inventory can sync to your cart seamlessly. To integrate your BigCommerce cart to Datex, follow these steps:
- Gather the shipping charge types available in the cart with the appropriate carrier and service level translations. (i.e., "FreeShipping" in cart should be sent USPS Parcel Select).
- Gather API Credentials:
- In order to enable API access, gather the Store Hash, which uniquely identifies your BigCommerce store.
- Log in to BigCommerce.
- On the left side of your BigCommerce Dashboard, click Settings.

Click Store-Level API Accounts.

Click Create API Account.
- Make sure Token type is set to V2/V3 API token.
- Under API path, your Store Hash is the part of the URL that follows
/stores/and precedes/v3/.
For example, if your API path ishttps://api.bigcommerce.com/stores/abcde/v3/, then your Store Hash isabcde. -
Note down this Store Hash.
OAuth Scopes
- For The API Account's OAuth Scopes, ensure the following minimum scopes are set.

In the API Credentials screen, note down the Client ID, Client Secret, and Access Token and store them securely. Then click Done.
- Enable API Access
- Send Store Hash information to Orbit Logistics in a Zendesk Ticket or email to support@orbit3pl.com along with User credentials to the Big Commerce store and URL.
- We will need to Authorize our integration partner Dropstream in your cart. While logged in to both your Big Commerce cart and our Dropstream account.
- Once the integration is set up you can remove our admin user if desired.
- Enable Inventory Tracking (optional)
- To enable inventory tracking in BigCommerce:
- Log in to BigCommerce, and go to the Edit a Product screen.
- Click Inventory.
- Click Track Inventory for this product.
- Click Save.

Orbit's scope
Even though Orbit is being granted Admin privileges to your BigCommerce cart, the extent of our activities within your cart involves only the order integration (i.e., outbound order import and tracking export) between your cart and our WMS.
Orbit is not responsible for managing, edits, or otherwise reviewing any other characteristics of your cart's functionality, applications, or logic.
